Miriah & Hunter are in Austin together for just a short time before her parents move out of state. They had just enough time to squeeze in an engagement shoot during his visit. With the historic rains and flooding, we chose the indoor venue at the Texas State Capitol. It alternated between booming thunder and driving rain to clear skies and a rainbow! Check out my other favorites in their Sneak Peek. Best of luck to you for your wedding next December!

Miriah and Hunter are getting married out of state next winter, but while visiting her home town we were able to get their engagement photos done on a stormy night at the Texas State Capitol in Austin. When we got kicked out at 8pm, the sky cleared up with a sunset, pink clouds, and even a double rainbow. Then as we wrapped, the storm clouds rolled in again reminding me of a certain alien movie and the US Capitol!

Suzi and Rachid exchanged vows in the gallery at the Austin Waldorf School in a touching ceremony with their children, family, and close friends perfect for our Mini Package. Her gorgeous purple and black lace gown showed their individual style. They had easy smiles and a lot of laughs, and a sense of silly fun. The calm relief after the wedding is one of my favorite parts of weddings, and this occasion had plenty of that sweet feeling after as they gathered with their guests. Congratulations on joining your lives in marriage, as Suzi said laughing with her arms raised at the end: “Finally!” Woot, woot!

Kristen and Chris were married at the gorgeous Casablanca on Brushy Creek in Round Rock on a warm February day. My last wedding before maternity leave was the perfect combination of casual elegance. The harp and viola music, the dignified Tex-Mex catering, the creek at sunset, and the variety of huge, open indoor spaces together with a beautiful couple and their friends created a timeless princess story.

I always get a kick out of seeing the photos we created for engagement and bridal shoots on display at the reception, on their blogs, or Facebook profile photos, and they had decorated many of the tabletops with vignettes of our sessions together. It’s always an honor being involved with a couple creating their first family heirloom from such a treasured part of their lives, helping remove the stress and capture the feeling of romantic fun and closeness around their wedding day. Thank you for having me as your wedding photographer…and engagement photographer…AND bridal photographer! It was an honor getting to know you better as you set off on this new journey together.
